For your main meal do you prefer sweet and sour, hot and spicy, spicy and sweet, bitter, salty, bland or other?
I like savory, with spices but not hot ones, which I cannot tolerate. I do like some sour flavorings such as ginger to add a little “zing” to a recipe. My favorite cuisine is Italian. I like salty foods but I am on a low sodium diet so I am trying to eat less of them. For dessert, purely sweet and chocolatey is what I love!

I ate this delicious salmon salad at the Chicago Botanic Gardens a few weeks ago. It has a lot of ingredients I love!

Where do you hide junk when people come over?
Good question! I usually pile stuff up and put it on the desk in our sunroom, because no one really goes in there except us. If that’s not an option, I make a pile and either put it in a plastic bag or box to go through later.

This is my messy desk in my home office. It’s a project I need to tackle!

What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?
Meditation. I have tried, and almost succeeded, in meditating daily, but the rest of life got in the way and I gradually dropped it. I still think it is important and would be good for my well-being. I plan to do it….soon.

If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?
It would have to be a clown and performing on solid ground. I do not have good balance and I’m afraid of fire. If I were dressed up as a clown, at least no one would recognize me!

Here’s an idea: I could be the balloon seller at the circus!*

Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful that my son has finally gotten his act together: he got a new job and is moving out next weekend! I am looking forward to going to Wisconsin at the end of the week. We used to have a cottage on a lake up in northern Wisconsin but we sold it two years ago after it had been in the family for 50 years! So my sisters rented two 4-bedroom lodges for a week on a lake adjacent to the one where our cottage was and have invited family members to spend a week there! It’ll be like old times and I look forward to sitting on a porch or veranda and listening to the loons calling, hearing the rain falling, boating, and swimming in the lake.

I’ll do a lot of reading…..                             and my husband will spend many hours fishing.
