FOTD: Bloodflower

The scientific name for the Silky Scarlet Bloodflower is Asclepias curassavica. It is in the milkweed family, which is the family of plants on which monarch butterflies lay their eggs. I saw this flower on my most recent trip to the Chicago Botanic Gardens.20170910_145557
