I do not know the name of this/these bird(s). I think the first is the male and the second is the female of the same species. However, the male turned his head just as my shutter clicked so I can’t confirm that! I saw them as our river cruise ship was about to go into a lock on the Rhine River. Any bird experts that can help me identify them? I think they are some species of duck.

I think they are Egyptian Geese. They do live in Europe now. I saw them in Africa and was stunned to see them whilst flying home in St. James Park.
You may be correct! I saw Egyptian geese in Tanzania and thought I saw them elsewhere in Europe.
