Yesterday, Dale and I took a little excursion up to Volo Bog, north of the northern ‘burbs, just to get away and combat inertia and boredom! We did not see a single (human) soul there, although we did see a few birds, frogs and lots of vegetation. There was something wrong with my memory card so I could not use my camera, just my cellphone. Even so, I got a couple of really nice photos of wild irises.

Fun Fact About the Iris: The iris gets its name from the Greek word for rainbow, which is also the name of the Greek goddess of the rainbow. The reason may be that the iris comes in so many colors, all the colors of the rainbow!
