FOTD: White Shrimp Plant

This unusual and interesting species that I captured at the Chicago Botanic Gardens in July is the white shrimp plant. I don’t know why, but somehow the name fits!

It is also called “Squirrel Tail” and “Paper Plume” (I like this name!) and its scientific name is justicia betonica or justicia pallidior. It is native to South Africa.
