FOTD: Irises: Good Things Happen With Patience

Two years ago, after we had moved, I was given some iris rhizomes and I followed the directions for planting them. The following spring, iris leaves grew from the rhizomes, but not very tall and no flowers bloomed. Last year, I did get a couple of blooms, but I was disappointed that I didn’t get more. However, this year, it’s a completely different story! Due to weeks of rain followed by sunny days, every one of the plants has had buds all over its stems and now most of them are in full bloom! I have been enjoying them so much the last few days, as the weather has been warm and very conducive to sitting on our little porch.
